Anne, tell us the reactions you’ve had from people to the idea of Gay Romance in general, both good and bad.
I’ve been surprised at how accepting and indeed complementary the people in both churches I’ve recently attended have been—that’s been very pleasant.
On the other hand, most of my relatives find it very disturbing and my cousin once emailed me to ask me to stop writing in the genre as he felt it was wrong. I’m not close to any of my family (though I do see my mother/stepfather about 3 or 4 times a year) but the email was upsetting. It would be nice, even just once, for someone in the family who isn’t my husband or my mother to offer congratulations at the regular success I have as a writer, but I suspect that might be a bridge too wide to cross.
